THE PROJECT

I created visual assets for the San Jose Chamber Orchestra for concerts and events and managed their website. I worked with the director to redesign their website and create cohesive assets that would remain consistent across the concert season. Each season I developed a new set of assets, aiming to attract a younger and more diverse crowd to concerts and encourage donations to the organization.

DESIGN PRoblem

With every new concert season, I saw an opportunity to create a vibrant and enticing new visual representation of the year’s concert series. Each year’s concert series is communicated through materials sent out to patrons of the orchestra and also through brochures and posters, which hopefully attract a new generation of concert goers.

DESIGN PROCESS

In order to create interest in the San Jose Chamber Orchestra and generate name recognition, very little text was placed on the poster. This is appealing to the viewer and stimulates curiosity, which can be easily addressed with a quick google search. This type of marketing is geared toward a younger generation that has an internet device of some sort at all times. By having interested viewers go directly to the website, there is a greater opportunity for online ticket sale conversion. Generally, older generations recognize or have previously supported the organization. Mailed content therefore contains more specific information but doesn’t skimp on classy visual engagement.
