About
My identity is one of seeming contradictions. I’m a white Jewish latino, a college-educated 3rd generation farmer, a statistics-minded graphic artist. The son of an Argentinian émigré professional and a hippy farmer who dropped out of college, I grew up in East Palo Alto but crossed the tracks to attend high school in affluent Palo Alto. Being able to fully own but also jump between identities has always been my strong suit. In the design agency I started out of college, my director’s role was to represent the missing person in the room: I was the voice of the designer to developers, the voice of the developer to the designers, the voice of both to the customer, and the voice of the customer to a distributed team of professionals. My unique ability to understand the desires of the client, the analytics of a business, and the beauty of design has helped me facilitate a cohesive and inclusive creative process for my team. As a young student, I struggled with dyslexia. Rather than be discouraged, I learned to find unconventional strategies to enable my academic success. When I find myself in the role of a leader, I work toward common goals while also creating an environment where individuals are free to unleash their creative potential. My dualistic background makes me sensitive to taking things at face value; I take the time to understand individual nuances and ultimately strive for authentic connection and excellence.
